چکیده

mają przyjemność zaprosić wszystkich zainteresowanych na cykl wykładów Prof. Grzegorza Rozenberga pt. A brief characteristics of Grzegorz Rozenberg Grzegorz Rozenberg is an outstanding scientist, whose contributions to the mathematical foundations of computer science can be hardly overestimated. His field of interest covers a wide range of computer science issues, from the theory of automata and formal languages to the DNA computing, via a variety of different aspects of mathematical structures in computer science. In all these fields he achieved significant results that placed him in the strict leadership of world scientists. He is the author of 6 scientific books and about 600 publications. He educated great number of student who are now professors in scientific universities in Europe and USA. His merits in the field have been honored in many ways. Association for Theoretical Computer Science "in recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions to theoretical computer science". Grzegorz Rozenberg characteristics would be incomplete without mention his another profession, as a magician. He is specialized in the most difficult type of magic, called " closed up " one, when the performer is situated very near the audience. His mastership as a magician has been confirmed by his membership of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Society of American Magicians, and the Dutch Union of Magicians. Processes Inspired by the Functioning of Living Cells: Natural Computing Approach - (Abstract)

Natural Computing is an interdisciplinary research field that investigates human-designed computing inspired by nature as well as computation taking place in nature, i.e., it investigates models, computational techniques, and computational technologies inspired by nature as well as it investigates phenomena/processes taking place in nature in terms of information processing. One of research are...

Commodified Discourses, Commodifying Discourses: In Pursuit of a Theoretical Model on the Constitutive Functioning of Academic Discourse in Marketization of Higher Education

Inspired by Fairclough's suggestion of the idea of commodification in higher education, particularly in terms of "the marketization of the discursive practices of universities" (1993, p. 143), the author of the present paper proposes a theoretical basis within which the constitutive functioning of academic discourse in the mentioned process can be understood.  In this attempt, Althusser's chain...

Reaction Systems: A Model of Computation Inspired by the Functioning of the Living Cell

Reaction systems are a model of computation inspired by the functioning of the living cell. They formalize the interactions between biochemical reactions that form the basic mechanism (the skeleton) underlying this functioning. This paper is a tutorial-style introduction to reaction systems – it introduces the basic notions, and reviews a number of research directions which are motivated either...

A Tour of reaction Systems

Natural Computing is concerned with human-designed computing inspired by nature as well as with computation taking place in nature. The latter strand of research investigates in terms of information processing, processes taking place in nature, and the computational nature of biochemical reactions is a research theme belonging here. Reaction systems are a formal framework for investigating proc...

Priority Setting Meets Multiple Streams: A Match to Be Further Examined?; Comment on “Introducing New Priority Setting and Resource Allocation Processes in a Canadian Healthcare Organization: A Case Study Analysis Informed by Multiple Streams Theory”

With demand for health services continuing to grow as populations age and new technologies emerge to meet health needs, healthcare policy-makers are under constant pressure to set priorities, ie, to make choices about the health services that can and cannot be funded within available resources. In a recent paper, Smith et al apply an influential policy studies framework – Kingdon’s multiple str...

A Multi-Formalism Modeling Framework: Formal Definitions, Model Composition and Solution Strategies

In this paper, we present a multi-formalism modeling framework (abbreviated by MFMF) for modeling and simulation. The proposed framework is defined based on the concepts of meta-models and uses object-orientation to overcome the complexities and to enhance the extensibility. The framework can be used as a basis for modeling by various formalisms and to support model composition in a unified man...
